WHAT IS THE ONE-EIGHTY RESIDENCY? The One-Eighty Residency Program is a one-year opportunity for Christian young adults to gain hands-on experience in missions, ministry, non-profit work, and community development. Residents serve across all four branches of our organization: Teen Center, Adventures, Community, and Counseling & Resources. This program is located in Lodi, CA and serves students and families in a specific neighborhood.
WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR? Have an active, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ, and be a part of a Christian fellowship Be a high school graduate under 25 years of age, with a minimum of 2.5 GPA Interested in Christian ministry with youth, mentoring, community development, and non-profit work.
HOW MANY RESIDENTS DO YOU ACCEPT A YEAR? Our Central Street building can house 4 boys and 5 girls. We are intentionally small to provide a hands-on educational and formational environment.
WHAT IS LIFE LIKE AT THE CENTRAL STREET HOUSE? The house is more than just a place to sleep; it is a place of mission and community. Our Resident Advisor lives at and oversees daily needs at the Central Street House Separate girls' and boys' living area with bathroom, kitchen, and living room. The rooms accommodate 2–3 residents with beds, desks, and storage. Meals: The kitchen is stocked weekly. Residents are required to attend set meal times with their Resident Advisor to eat and debrief together.
WHAT ARE THE PROGRAM PATHWAYS? We offer two distinct pathways: Residency Student Program: Earn up to 54 Kairos University credits toward a Bachelor’s Degree. Residency Intern Program: Part-time paid ministry experience, and receive a certificate from the North American Baptist Association.
WHAT IS THE COST, AND IS THERE FINANCIAL HELP? The cost: $1,250/month for students and $800/month for interns. We encourage you to ask for support from your own community, but we also offer a scholarship for those students who need financial help.
WHAT CHURCH OR DENOMINATION IS THIS PROGRAM AFFILIATED WITH? One-Eighty Programs is part of the North American Baptist Association, and we partner with Kairos University for our educational program.
WHAT ARE THE "HIGHER STANDARDS" FOR CONDUCT? Because our residents serve as mentors to vulnerable youth, they are held to a high standard of integrity: Abstain from the use of alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and illegal substances. Commit to refraining from sexual relations outside of marriage. Refrain from dating fellow residents while enrolled in the program. Use discretion and maintain professional boundaries on social media.
WHAT WILL MY TYPICAL WEEK LOOK LIKE? Your schedule will be a blend of practical service and personal growth: Daily prayer rhythms and staff meetings. Regular program hours at the Teen Center, Homework Clubs, or other sites. Hosting monthly meals and organizing events (like BBQs or Bible studies) for neighbors. Attending spiritual development gatherings (KC Praxis, prayer meetings, etc.) throughout the year.
ARE THERE ANY TRIPS INVOLVED? Yes, there will be a few Adventure Trips, where you are working with local students. You will be part of a week-long study and ministry trip to El Salvador. (You will need a passport!).
